TOPPING TREES “T U P I T I T Y”

It’s the usual phone calls, mostly from insurance companies, for us to inspect the casualties, mostly damage to roofs, sometimes cars and yes human casualty. (see damage results in our photos)

All caused because of inept care (carelessness) for trees that usually have been neglected and the owner then decides to give the trees a “BUTCHER” cut or better known as “TOPPING”, this practice is not to be confused with proper pruning.

What is Tree Topping?

Tree topping- is the drastic removal, or cutting back, of large branches in mature trees, leaving large, open wounds which subject the tree to disease and decay.
Most professional (licensed/certified) arborists will NOT comply with the request to top trees, since the end result will be damages and possible loss of limb or life in the future of these topped trees.

TOPPED TREES, do not add value to your property, it does not invigorate, it will start the tree on a downward health spiral, it will not reduce storm damage…..it will become a hazardous situation = an accident about to happen!
